Clive IowaClive was initially platted in 1882 and officially incorporated as a city in 1956. Clive is geographically located between West Des Moines and Urbandale with ease of access to the rest of the Des Moines Metro via I-80 and I-235. Clive has a population of approximately 16,590 and sits in both Polk and Dallas Counties. Depending on which county a property is located in, Clive is part of both the West Des Moines (Polk) and Waukee (Dallas) School Districts. Currently, there are approximately 6,074 households with an average household size of 2.67. Clive has one of the highest per capita income levels in the Des Moines Metro with a median household income of $97,684.

Clive uses the tagline, "Distinct by Nature," which refers to Clive's Greenbelt Park and trail system. The trail system is an 11-mile paved trail that runs through the entire community. Residents also take advantage of the Clive Aquatic Center which is great for kids of all ages. The aquatic center has a lazy river, two pools, and is a fun place to be during the summer.
